Setting up for a month is not setting up for a weekend. A few extra minutes on day one saves you from re-doing everything in the rain later.

Order of operations

1Position the rig with room for slides, the awning, and your door-side patio space.
2Level side to side with full-width blocks under the tires.
3Chock the wheels, then unhitch or set the parking brake.
4Level front to back with the tongue jack or leveling system.
5Lower stabilizers to firm contact only, on pads.
6Test the pedestal with a surge protector before plugging in the rig.
7Connect water through a pressure regulator with a drinking-safe hose.
8Build the sewer connection on a sloped support and seal at the park inlet.
9Extend slides, then check that seals meet evenly.
10Walk the exterior and confirm nothing is pinched, kinked, or in a mower path.

Long-term site care

Keep hoses and cords off walking paths.
Use a mat that lets grass breathe rather than killing it.
Keep the site clear so mowing can happen around you.
Store nothing under the rig that blocks inspection.
Follow park rules on skirting, sheds, and fencing.

First-week checks

Re-check level after the ground settles, re-check the sewer connection after your first dump, and verify pedestal voltage under load once the air conditioner has run.
